The President of the Chartered Institute of Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioners (CIRIP) Ghana, Mr. Felix Addo, paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Registrar of Companies, Mrs. Maame Samma Peprah, to reaffirm CIRIP’s commitment to collaborating with the Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) in advancing shared objectives—particularly in the area of business rescue reforms.
During the engagement, Mr. Addo highlighted CIRIP’s institutional evolution from the Ghana Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Advisors (GARIA), an organization with an 18-year legacy, now formally established under the CIRIP Act, 2024 (Act 1117). He also underscored CIRIP’s volunteer-led contributions to the development and passage of the Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring Act, 2020 (Act 1015), and the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992).
CIRIP’s mission is to cultivate a rescue culture within Ghana’s corporate landscape—one that prioritizes restructuring and turnaround strategies over liquidation. The Institute is committed to providing structured training, regulation, and continuous professional development for Insolvency Practitioners (IPs), thereby strengthening the capacity of the profession.
Mrs. Peprah warmly welcomed the collaboration and expressed appreciation for CIRIP’s efforts. She emphasized the importance of joint initiatives, including public education, capacity-building programs, and strengthening professional standards among IPs. She affirmed the ORC’s readiness to partner with CIRIP to promote corporate resilience and ensure the effective implementation of Ghana’s restructuring and insolvency framework.
This partnership marks a significant step toward deepening institutional cooperation and building a more robust corporate governance and insolvency ecosystem in Ghana.
